Spiritual Directors: Eileen Foley FC and Jennifer McAleer

The Ignatian Directed retreat is a special time set aside from life’s busyness and an opportunity to be consciously present with and to God in our lives today.

We hold silence for the days of the retreat so that the retreatant can focus on being fully in the present in this beautiful place, and so fully present to God and themselves.
We arrive in the evening for 6pm supper followed by an introduction to the retreat.
Each person is assigned a spiritual director whom they will meet briefly each morning, to accompany and support the retreatant on their personal journey. We start the silence after this introduction, and stay in that quiet until the final morning.

Four days is a shorter time for these retreats but it is enough.
These days allow each person time, through silence, nature, art or writing, to reflect and hear God in a particularly special way on these directed retreats. Each day has the opportunity for morning spiritual direction, evening mass and a time of prayer before the Blessed Sacrament, as people wish. While some worry about their comfort with silence, in truth once we put the phone and newspaper down for a day; we all relish the calm and ease of living in the present for a few days!

This retreat is always residential, to support the stillness of the retreat. Please note rooms are not en-suite – every 2 or 3 bedrooms shares a bathroom. Each bedroom has a washbasin, armchair, desk and single bed. Linen and Towels are provided.

We have only 11 places on each retreat so please contact us to register interest if you cannot book your place immediately. The cost of the four day retreat is €395. A €100 non refundable  deposit secures a place.

Creativity Mindfulness
The purpose of centering prayer is not to experience peace, but to clear the unconscious obstacles to the permanent abiding state of union with God. Centering prayer is not so much an exercise of attention as intention. Our intention is to be present to God’s presence and actions in our lives. Centering prayer is not a way of turning on the presence of God. Rather, it is a way of saying “Here I am.” \Scene from house looking out over the sea. Top of image, sun shining through cloud.
